Signature program

Learn farming by running a farm.

The One Hectare Farm gives every learner 10,000 m² to plan, plant, manage and sell from — with a mentor beside them the whole season.

What it is

A one-hectare farm divided into eight cultivated plots and a shared area for paths, a nursery, compost and water storage.

Learners choose crops for their climate and market, keep a field journal, test their soil and record every harvest. The farm is the classroom; the lessons give you the tools.

From soil to sale

  1. 01

    Test the soil

Collect representative samples and read your results with a mentor.

  2. 02

    Plan the plots

Map eight plots, choose crops and plan rotation and water.

  3. 03

    Plant and manage

Plant, irrigate, scout for pests and keep a weekly field journal.

  4. 04

    Harvest and record

Weigh, grade and record every harvest in kilograms.

  5. 05

    Sell and reflect

Sell at market or through a cooperative and review the season's numbers.

What learners earn

  • One Hectare Farm certificate on completing a full season
  • A documented farm record: journal, soil tests and harvest data
  • Market experience and a season profit-and-loss summary

Mentor support

Each learner is paired with a mentor who reviews journal entries, soil results and assignments, and replies with practical next steps — usually within two days.
